Watch This Old Toyota Fortuner Turn Into A Rs 55 Lakh Legender!
Since the launch of Toyota Fortuner in India, it has become a symbol of reliability and luxury in the SUV segment. Even as we cruise through 2024, the first-generation Type 1 Fortuners are not just surviving but many owners choosing to give their old stalwarts a contemporary makeover.
These makeovers are made possible by aftermarket body kits which can transform an old SUV into a modern behemoth. A recent instance that has caught the eye of automobile aficionados is a transformation video that Autorounders uploaded to YouTube.
The video in question showcases the metamorphosis of a Type 1 Toyota Fortuner into a sleek, Rs 55 lakh Legender. According to Autorounders, its customers can choose from several packages such as restoration, Type 2 conversion, Type 2 with Lexus kit, Legender, or even Autorounders' exclusive Spartan kit.
The focus of this particular project was a half Legender conversion. The transformation included swapping out the front bumper, hood, headlights, fenders, and grille. The rear also received upgrades with a new decklid and Legender taillights, among other exterior and interior modifications.
In the video, the viewers were treated to an in-depth look at the car's disassembly, preparation for bodywork, and painting process. The vehicle shed its original white hue for a more imposing black color.
After emerging from the paint booth, it was polished to perfection, and the assembly of new parts began. The final touches included fitting the SUV with luxurious black leather seat covers and refreshed interior trim.
The grand reveal featured the finished product – a Type 1 Fortuner with a stylish half Legender look. The shop owner explained that while it wasn't a full Legender conversion, which would involve altering the C-pillar, it still captured the essence of the Legender.
This decision was made to avoid the high costs and potential compromise to the vehicle's structural integrity, as pillars are vital for maintaining the car's strength. Despite this, the shop has completed two full Legender conversions, which they promised to showcase in the near future.
