Auto Expo 2025: Tata Sierra EV Highlights & Expectations
Tata Motors is set to revive the Sierra nameplate with an electric vehicle (EV) concept, first revealed at the last Auto Expo. The production version will debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo, with sales in India anticipated by mid-2025. Internal combustion engine (ICE) variants are expected to follow. Here's what to anticipate from the Sierra EV at January's event.
Exterior Design
The Tata Sierra's design was previewed at the previous Auto Expo, and recent sightings of the production model suggest minimal changes. However, there will be slight differences between the EV and ICE versions, with unique styling cues for the electric variant. The original Sierra's large rear glass won't be retained but will be echoed in its design.

Interior Features
Tata Motors aims for the Sierra EV to be their most feature-rich modern vehicle. It will include advanced features like a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and dual-zone climate control. Additionally, it is expected to offer a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite and possibly a twin infotainment setup.
Powertrain Options
The upcoming Tata Sierra EV will likely utilise Tata's Acti.EV platform, enabling options for both all-wheel-drive (AWD) and rear-wheel-drive (RWD). While battery specifications remain undisclosed, it is anticipated that the Sierra EV will offer single- and dual-motor configurations, providing an estimated range of 500km per charge.
The revival of the Sierra nameplate as an EV marks Tata Motors' commitment to innovation in electric mobility. With its blend of modern features and advanced powertrain options, the Sierra EV promises to be a significant addition to India's growing electric vehicle market.
