FASTag Annual Pass Launch Tomorrow: All Details You Should Know

Starting August 15, frequent highway travellers can benefit from the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) new FASTag Annual Pass. This initiative allows for a single payment covering either 200 toll trips or an entire year, whichever is reached first. The pass aims to simplify travel for regular drivers by eliminating the need for repeated toll recharges.

For Private Vehicles Only

The FASTag Annual Pass is specifically designed for non-commercial private vehicles like cars, jeeps, and vans. It was announced in June and will be linked to an active FASTag connected to the vehicle's registration number. The pass is valid on national highways and expressways managed by NHAI and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).

Rs 3000 For 200 Trips/1 Year

This pass offers several advantages, including eliminating the need for frequent online recharges. It also reduces waiting times at toll plazas and minimises payment disputes. With a one-time fee of ₹3,000, users can enjoy uninterrupted travel for up to 200 trips or a full year.

How To Buy FASTag Annual Pass?

To purchase the pass, users must visit the Rajmarg Yatra app or the NHAI/MoRTH website. After logging in with their vehicle number and FASTag ID, they can pay ₹3,000 online using UPI, card, or net banking. The pass will be activated on August 15.

Where The Pass Works

The FASTag Annual Pass is applicable at toll plazas on national highways and expressways operated by NHAI. Examples include the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and Mumbai-Nashik routes. However, it does not cover state highways or municipal roads like the Mumbai-Pune Expressway or Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

Other Details

There are specific rules associated with this pass. It is exclusively for private vehicles and cannot be transferred to another vehicle. Additionally, there is no auto-renewal feature; users must reapply once it expires after reaching 200 trips or one year.

Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that this plan addresses issues related to closely located toll plazas by simplifying payments through a single affordable transaction.
