Honda Unveils Ye Series Electric GTs At 2025 Shanghai Motor Show - Multiscreen Madness
At the 2025 Shanghai Motor Show, Honda has unveiled two new electric grand tourer models designed for the Chinese market, emphasizing the advanced technology packed within their interiors. Developed in collaboration with GAC and Dongfeng, the new Ye Series models share similar designs but distinguish themselves with their unique styling cues.
Inside, these vehicles boast an impressive array of six screens, which includes a large central touchscreen, additional displays for both the driver and passenger, and screens replacing traditional wing mirrors.
The innovative interiors of these GT models are crafted to provide an immersive driving experience, resembling the cockpit of a racing machine. The abundance of screens is complemented by a limited number of physical buttons, primarily found on the steering wheel, highlighting Honda's shift towards a more digital driving environment.

While specifics about the GT models' powertrains remain under wraps, it's anticipated that they will utilize Honda's e:N Architecture W platform. This platform supports rear- and all-wheel-drive configurations and is capable of delivering up to 469bhp and over 400 miles of range.
The unveiling of the GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT at Auto Shanghai 2025 marked the introduction of the second set of the Ye Series, exclusive to the Chinese market. These models aim to offer a new level of driving pleasure with their "low & wide" silhouette and distinct designs that convey a sophisticated or emotional sense of the future. The interior design focuses on creating a space where both the driver and passenger can enjoy a unique mobility experience, with the driver's area designed for immersive driving and the passenger provided with a large screen-like display for an enhanced experience.

Honda's commitment to innovation extends beyond the GT models, with plans to incorporate advanced driver assistance technologies through a collaboration with Momenta. This partnership aims to develop AI-driven assistance systems that can navigate the car to a set destination. Additionally, Honda will utilize AI technologies from DeepSeek to enhance the occupant experience and introduce more comfortable and enjoyable mobility spaces. Future Ye Series models will benefit from these AI technologies, further advancing Honda's electric vehicle offerings.
Moreover, Honda's partnership with CATL focuses on the co-development of electrification technologies, including a high-efficiency platform designed with battery cells integrated directly into the vehicle body. This collaboration also includes the development of a lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery for the upcoming third set of Ye Series models. Honda's global goal is to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, and by leveraging local resources and technologies in China, Honda aims to accelerate its electrification efforts and introduce new products equipped with cutting-edge technologies.
Honda's presentation of the GAC Honda GT and Dongfeng Honda GT at Auto Shanghai 2025 showcases the company's dedication to innovation in the electric vehicle market. With advanced interiors, collaborative technologies, and a focus on an immersive driving experience, Honda is setting new standards for electric mobility. Through strategic partnerships and a commitment to utilizing local technologies, Honda is poised to deliver on its promise of creating more enjoyable and environmentally friendly vehicles for the future.
