Inverted Unveils Electrified Land Rover Series I, II & III For Eco-Friendly Driving

Inverted, a specialist in converting classic vehicles to electric, has expanded its offerings with the electrification of Land Rover Series I, II, and III. Known for transforming Range Rover Classics, Inverted now applies its expertise to these iconic 4x4s. The revamped models maintain their vintage appeal while incorporating modern electric technology for a more sustainable drive.

These updated Land Rovers are designed for various uses, from countryside excursions to eco-friendly urban commutes. Customers can work directly with Harry Millington, Inverted's Founder, to customise their vehicle. Options range from preserving the original look to creating a unique design.

The core of this transformation is a 62kWh battery pack divided between the front and rear. This setup enhances weight distribution and traction. A 160 bhp motor provides around 900Nm of torque, achieving 0–60 mph in roughly eight seconds. The original transfer box remains, offering high/low range ratios and a locking differential for off-road adventures.

Charging options include a 6.6kW Type 2 charger and a 60kW CCS rapid charger as standard. A quick charge from 20% to 80% takes about 38 minutes, providing a real-world range of approximately 120 miles. Three driving modes—Eco, Traffic, and Off-Road—offer tailored performance and regenerative braking profiles.

Electric power steering and servo-assisted brakes significantly improve the driving experience over the original models. "Series Land Rovers are beautiful, iconic machines," says Harry Millington. "But let’s face it, not everyone wants to wrestle with a choke on a cold morning or breathe in exhaust fumes that waft through the car."

In addition to these features, Inverted offers an electrification kit for Land Rover Defenders. This kit integrates seamlessly into Defenders without sacrificing boot space and includes an 82kWh heated and cooled battery pack. Customers can choose between motors offering either 300 bhp or 450 bhp.

Customisation and Availability

The starting price for an Inverted Series Land Rover is £125,000 plus VAT. Each vehicle is restored according to customer specifications, balancing everyday usability with off-road capability. Additional options include custom interiors and paint colours.

Inverted will source the desired Series model or use an existing one as a donor vehicle if owned by the customer. Depending on specifications, delivery can occur within four months. Each vehicle comes with a two-year electrification warranty and technical support.

Founded in 2021, Inverted aims to create sustainable classic cars that respect their heritage while reducing environmental impact. These vehicles are available in both right-hand drive (RHD) and left-hand drive (LHD) configurations with worldwide shipping options.
