Land Rover Discovery Gemini & Tempest Editions Launched At Rs 1.26 Crore
British SUV specialist Land Rover has introduced two new special editions of the Discovery in India - the Gemini Edition and the Tempest Edition - priced at ₹1.26 crore and ₹1.39 crore (ex-showroom), respectively. The new models replace the outgoing S and Metropolitan trims and bring sharper styling along with updated features.
The Discovery Gemini Edition is positioned as the more accessible variant in the Discovery lineup. It features a gloss black roof, silver-finished skid plates, 21-inch silver alloy wheels, and a silver-accented grille. Buyers can choose from body colours such as Sedona Red, Fuji White, Santorini Black, and Eiger Grey, among others, from the standard palette, with the exception of Charente Grey.

The Tempest Edition sits above it as the flagship trim. It stands out with dual-tone 22-inch Petra Copper wheels, matching copper roof accents, and a distinctive grille finished in Graphite Atlas gloss. It also includes silver-etched door sills and unique puddle lamp projections exclusive to this edition.
Inside, both versions share a common digital layout featuring a 12.3-inch driver display and an 11.4-inch infotainment touchscreen. Standard features include a Meridian audio system, three-zone climate control, and a 360-degree camera. The Gemini Edition offers leatherette or fabric upholstery in Light Oyster and Ebony shades, complemented by matching headliners.

The Discovery Tempest Edition, meanwhile, adds higher-end equipment such as a heads-up display, a 14-speaker Meridian surround system, four-zone climate control, a heated multifunction steering wheel, and power-folding third-row seats. Interior themes for this trim include Ebony, Caraway, and Light Oyster, further enhancing its luxury appeal.
Under the bonnet, both special editions of the Discovery continue with the familiar 3.0-litre, six-cylinder diesel engine paired with mild-hybrid technology. This setup delivers 345bhp and 700Nm of peak torque, sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-100km/h in 6.3 seconds, while maintaining its reputation for all-terrain capability.

The Discovery Gemini and Tempest Editions also introduce subtle heritage cues. The Gemini name pays homage to the internal codename of the original 1989 Discovery, while Tempest references the second-generation model's project name. Land Rover says both editions are designed for "luxurious road trips," with optional accessory packs offered for Beach Days, Road Trips, and Snow Days. Each version continues to support a maximum towing capacity of 3,500kg.
The updated range simplifies the Discovery lineup and repositions it with a more defined identity for Indian buyers, combining Land Rover's long-standing off-road pedigree with elevated design and technology.
