Mecum Las Vegas 2025 Achieves $27.2 Million In Sales, Setting New Records For Motorcycle Auctions
The Mecum Las Vegas 2025 auction, renowned as the world's largest vintage and antique motorcycle event, recently set new records. The auction achieved a remarkable $27.2 million in sales, making it the highest-grossing motorcycle auction ever. This event showcased several record-breaking individual motorcycle sales, capturing the attention of enthusiasts and investors alike.
A highlight of the auction was the sale of a 1915 Cyclone V-Twin for $1.32 million. This sale marked it as the most valuable motorcycle ever sold at a public auction, and notably, it became the first to surpass the $1 million mark. The Cyclone's rarity and restoration by Stephen Wright contributed to its high value.
Another standout was a 1938 Crocker Twin, which fetched $880,000. This sale made it the most valuable Crocker ever sold at public auction and placed it among the top five most valuable motorcycles of any brand sold publicly. These sales underscore the strong market interest in historic motorcycles.
The auction featured motorcycles from 13 different decades, with most top sellers dating from the early 20th century or earlier. A notable sale was an 1898 De Dion-Bouton Tricycle, which sold for $165,000. This tricycle set a record as the most valuable De Dion of any type ever sold at public auction.
The impressive inventory attracted large crowds and enthusiastic bidding, contributing to the overall success of the event. The total sales figure surpassed Mecum's previous record by nearly $1.5 million, setting a new benchmark for motorcycle auctions worldwide.
Mecum Auctions' Successful January
January 2025 proved significant for Mecum Auctions, with nearly $255 million in sales between Las Vegas and their World's Largest Collector Car Auction held earlier in Kissimmee, Florida. This success highlights Mecum's influence in both motorcycle and car auctions.
The top ten motorcycle sales included models like a 1913 Henderson Four at $352,000 and a 1974 Ducati 750SS at $198,000. These figures reflect the diverse range of vintage motorcycles that captivated bidders during this landmark event.
Looking ahead, Mecum's next major event is Glendale 2025 at State Farm Stadium in Arizona from March 18-22. Approximately 2,000 classic and collector cars are expected to be featured. For more information on upcoming auctions or to register as a bidder, visit Mecum.com or contact them directly.
