Mercedes-Benz Unveils All-New CLA Shooting Brake With EQ Technology For Enhanced Space And Efficiency
The new electric Mercedes-Benz CLA Shooting Brake offers a spacious and versatile design, making it ideal for various needs. It combines elegance with practicality, providing ample room for passengers and luggage. With a range of up to 761 kilometres according to WLTP, it ensures suitability for both daily use and long journeys. Charging is efficient, allowing up to 310 kilometres in just 10 minutes.
The CLA Shooting Brake's design integrates sporty elements with increased cargo space. The vehicle features a panoramic roof that enhances the sense of openness inside. This roof is made from heat-insulating glass, reducing interior heat in summer and retaining warmth in winter. Its transparency can be adjusted quickly, offering privacy or a clear view as desired.
Mercedes-Benz has introduced the CLA Shooting Brake as the first electric estate model in its lineup. This vehicle combines the sporty aesthetics of a four-door coupé with the practicality of an estate car. The boot capacity ranges from 455 to 1,290 litres, while an additional 101 litres are available under the front bonnet.
The CLA Shooting Brake features advanced technology with its MBUX Superscreen, which spans across the dashboard. This includes multiple screens powered by high-performance chips and real-time graphics from Unity Game Engine. The system supports video streaming and gaming through platforms like Disney+ and Boosteroid.
The vehicle's steering wheel has been redesigned for improved ergonomics, featuring roller switches for volume control and other functions based on customer feedback. The capacitive switch panels offer tactile aids for better orientation, enhancing usability without cluttering the controls.
Enhanced Interior Comfort
The interior of the CLA Shooting Brake mirrors that of the CLA Saloon but offers more headroom due to its extended roofline. Passengers benefit from increased comfort with larger door cut-outs for easier access to the rear seats. The seats can be folded down in a 40:20:40 ratio to maximise cargo space.
The vehicle's dimensions have increased compared to its predecessor, providing more space inside. It is now 35 millimetres longer and 27 millimetres taller, with a wheelbase extended by 61 millimetres. These changes result in more headroom and legroom for passengers.
Performance and Efficiency
The CLA Shooting Brake is equipped with a new electric drive system featuring a two-speed gearbox on the rear axle. This setup ensures dynamic performance while maintaining efficiency. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.8 seconds.
Two models are initially available: the CLA 250+ Shooting Brake with EQ Technology offering up to 761 kilometres range, and the performance-oriented CLA 350 4MATIC Shooting Brake with dual motors providing up to 730 kilometres range according to WLTP standards.
