Updated Tata Safari & Harrier: More Power, More Tech, More Premium
Tata Motors has introduced new updates for the Harrier and Safari, equipping them with a new Hyperion turbo-petrol engine and several added technologies and comfort features. These two SUVs are Tata's premium flagship offerings, and the added features further enhance their overall value. Check out what's new.
Tata Updates the Safari & Harrier
New 1.5L Turbo Petrol
The Harrier and the Safari are now powered by a new, specifically tuned 1.5L turbo-petrol engine that produces 168 BHP and 280 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic transmission. These power outputs are slightly higher than those of the Tata Sierra, which also uses the Hyperion turbo-petrol engine.

This particular engine features high-pressure direct injection for improved combustion efficiency and lower emissions. An advanced turbocharging technology to reduce turbo lag and improve low-speed performance, along with enhanced cooling components to manage heat effectively.
A new Samsung QLED screen
The SUVs now feature a new 14.5-inch Harman-powered Samsung Neo QLED infotainment screen, integrated with a 10-speaker JBL surround sound system. The user interface has been redesigned for better visibility and smoother operation, and it supports Dolby Atmos, wireless Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

Added Tech and Convenience Features
Both cars now feature front and rear camera washers, which clear dust and improve camera visibility. They also get front and rear dashcams integrated with the digital IRVM inside the car.
The ORVMs now come with a memory function that automatically tilts downwards when the driver engages reverse gear. They also get a 65W USB Type-C fast charger, along with other convenience enhancements depending on the variant.

Plush Interiors and Cabin
The Harrier receives new Fearless Ultra and Red Dark editions, while the Safari introduces Accomplished Ultra and Accomplished Ultra Red Dark trims, including 6-seater options. The Tata Harrier features a dual-tone Oyster White and Titan Brown upholstery, while the Safari features a Carnelian Red-themed interior.
The Safari additionally offers reclining and sliding second-row seats with ventilation, Boss mode and voice-assisted dual-zone climate control. The cabins also include a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, ventilated powered front seats, a 360-degree camera, a central soundbar, adjustable rear headrests, and second-row sun blinds.

Some of the safety features include an advanced driver assistance system (Level 2 ADAS), seven airbags, an advanced electronic stability program, TPMS and Emergency Call/Breakdown call.
Price expectations
The new Tata Harrier turbo-petrol is expected to be priced from around ₹15 lakh (ex-showroom), while the Safari petrol is expected to start around ₹17 lakh (ex-showroom). These SUVs face rivals such as the Mahindra XUV 7XO (upcoming), MG Hector and Hector Plus, Jeep Compass and Meridian, and Hyundai Alcazar.
