Auto Expo 2025: Upcoming Cars You Should Watchout For
The Bharat Mobility Show, scheduled from January 17 to 22, 2025, is set to spotlight electric vehicles (EVs) exclusively. This event will showcase a range of EVs, from mass-market SUVs to high-performance sports cars. It signifies a major shift towards electrification in the automotive industry, hinting at a year where electric mobility takes centre stage.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara
Maruti Suzuki is preparing to unveil its first mass-market EV, the e Vitara. This SUV evolves from the eVX concept with slight design tweaks and offers two battery options: 49kWh and 61kWh. The larger battery variant includes an optional dual-motor AWD system, delivering power between 144hp and 184hp. Although official range figures are yet to be announced, expectations are for over 500km on the larger battery.

Hyundai Creta EV
Hyundai plans to introduce the Creta EV as a direct competitor to Maruti's offering. This model will retain the size and shape of its ICE counterpart but with EV-specific design changes. The interior is expected to borrow elements from the Alcazar facelift and Kona models. It will feature a front-axle electric motor paired with a 45kWh battery, aiming for an estimated range of around 400km.

Mercedes-Benz G 580 & New EQS Lineup
Mercedes-Benz is launching the electric G 580 ahead of the show on January 9. This model maintains the classic G-Class design while enhancing off-road capabilities through four electric motors. The setup produces 587hp and 1,165Nm torque, achieving a sub-5-second sprint from 0-100kph and offering a range of 470km with its 116kWh battery.

Additionally, Mercedes-Benz is expanding its EQS SUV lineup with new variants: Night Edition and a five-seater EQS 450 model. The Night Edition offers distinct aesthetics while the five-seater variant shares the same powerful performance as its seven-seater counterpart with a robust output of up to 544hp from its large battery pack.
MG Cyberster
MG will reveal pricing for its Cyberster electric sportscar at the event. Sold through 'MG Select' premium retail channels, it features a dual-motor AWD setup powered by a 77kWh battery, generating 510hp and 725Nm torque. The Cyberster can accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 3.2 seconds and boasts a maximum range of 580km. Notably, it introduces scissor doors to India's EV market.

Mahindra BE 6 & XEV 9e
Mahindra is set to announce full pricing details for its BE 6 and XEV 9e electric SUVs during the show. Both models are built on the INGLO platform with futuristic designs and share a rear-motor setup powered by a 59kWh battery. They offer ranges of up to 556km and 542km respectively.

The Auto Expo 2025 will also witness several other significant debuts in India including models like Skoda Kodiaq and Superb, Hyundai Ioniq 9, Skoda Elroq, Kia Syros along with BMW X3 highlighting this event's importance in shaping India's future electric mobility landscape.
