The Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA) has released the OEM-wise passenger vehicle (PV) market share data for January 2026. As expected, India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, continues to dominate the charts, with Hyundai Motor India and Tata Motors securing the next two positions. 1. Maruti Suzuki
India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, tops the chart with sales of 2,16,043 units and a commanding 42% market share in the passenger vehicle segment. The company continues to dominate the small-car category, as a large number of first-time buyers still prefer Maruti Suzuki vehicles over other brands.

2. Hyundai Motor India
South Korea's Hyundai Motor India reclaimed the second position in January 2026. After briefly losing this spot to Mahindra last year, the company regained momentum by selling 65,914 units during the month, securing a 12.84% market share. They also kept their market share intact compared to last year.
3. Tata Motors
Tata Motors finished in third position with sales of 63,558 units last month, keeping a 12.38% market share. The company shows strong year-on-year growth compared to January last year, when it sold 54,885 units.

4. Mahindra & Mahindra
Mahindra continues to perform strongly in the passenger vehicle segment, closely following Tata Motors. The company sold 63,366 units in January 2026, capturing a healthy 12.34% market share in the Indian market.
5. Toyota Kirloskar Motor
Toyota secured fifth place with total sales of 35,053 units in January 2026, holding a 6.83% market share. Its hybrid lineup, along with popular models like the Innova and Fortuner, continues to drive strong demand. The company has also entered the EV segment with the Urban Cruiser Ebella, based on the Maruti Suzuki eVitara.

6. Kia India
Kia India continues to enjoy strong demand for its SUVs and MPVs. The brand sold 29,954 units in January 2026, achieving a market share of 5.83%. The recently launched next-generation Seltos is receiving encouraging booking numbers.
7. Skoda Volkswagen Auto
The Skoda-Volkswagen group recorded combined sales of 9,794 units with a 1.91% market share. Popular models such as the Kylaq and Virtus contribute significantly to their volumes. The group also includes Audi AG, which operates in the luxury vehicle segment.
8. JSW MG Motors
JSW-backed MG Motor India sold 5,926 units in January 2026, accounting for a 1.15% market share. The MG Windsor EV has recently emerged as a key sales driver, particularly in the growing electric vehicle segment.

9. Honda Cars
Honda Cars India sold 5,848 units in January 2026, holding a 1.14% market share. The company currently offers three models: City, Elevate, and Amaze - with the City also available in a hybrid version (City e: HEV). Honda is expected to expand its lineup in India by 2026.
10. Renault India
Renault India recorded sales of 4,839 units, reflecting a 0.94% market share. The recent relaunch of the popular Duster is expected to boost sales momentum, with pricing details anticipated to be announced soon.
