Mahindra’s Next Big Electric Vehicle Coming In 2027 — What To Expect?

Mahindra has confirmed that its next electric vehicle will launch in 2027, and it will more likely be the production version of the BE.07 concept that was first showcased on August 15, 2022. While the model was initially expected to arrive in 2026, the company has now confirmed a slight delay in its launch timeline.

Mahindra's Next Electric Vehicle In 2027

The BE.07 will be the second model in Mahindra's BE series after the BE 06. Like its sibling, it will be built on Mahindra's dedicated INGLO platform, which underpins the brand's born-electric lineup. Compared to the BE 06, the upcoming BE 07 is expected to be larger in size and length, offering enhanced cabin space and improved comfort.

In terms of competition, the BE.07 is likely to directly rival the Tata Harrier EV in the mid-size electric SUV segment. It is expected to feature a larger battery pack, possibly ranging between 60 kWh and 80 kWh, delivering a strong balance of performance and range.

Mahindra has a track record of carrying forward many design elements from its concept vehicles into production models. As a result, the BE.07 is expected to retain several key highlights from the concept version. Interior features could include a triple-screen setup, a premium sound system, dual-zone climate control, leatherette upholstery, powered and ventilated front seats, reclining rear seats, a large panoramic sunroof, and multi-colour ambient lighting.

Mahindra is already witnessing strong traction in the EV segment, with monthly sales ranging between 4,000 and 6,000 units. The BE 06 has gained significant popularity among Indian buyers, and the recently introduced XEV 9S has positioned itself as one of India's most affordable seven-seater electric vehicles. The performance-focused XEV 9e further strengthens the lineup.

Once launched, the BE 07 will become the fourth born-electric model in Mahindra's portfolio. The company aims to expand its EV range further in the coming years, offering customers a wider choice and potentially boosting overall sales.

Beyond electric vehicles, Mahindra is also preparing to introduce a facelifted version of the Scorpio N SUV. Additionally, the brand is working on a Scorpio N-based pickup truck, which is expected to compete with models such as the Isuzu D-Max V-Cross and the Toyota Hilux.
