Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Launched At Rs 10.99 Lakh (BaaS) - Battery Rental At ₹Rs 3.99/km
Maruti Suzuki has launched the e Vitara, its first all-electric SUV for India, with introductory (till March 31st) prices starting at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) under a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership model.
Under this scheme, the quoted price excludes the battery pack, which is provided on a subscription basis at a usage cost of Rs 3.99 per kilometre. The starting price corresponds to the base Delta variant equipped with the smaller 49kWh battery pack.

Bookings for the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara electric SUV are open for a token amount of Rs 21,000, and deliveries are expected to begin shortly through Maruti Suzuki's Nexa retail network. Customers can upgrade to e VITARA with a similar EMI of their existing car under Maruti's e Flex Scheme.
Maruti Suzuki is also offering two Assured buyback schemes for e Vitara customers:
➢ The 3-years /45 000 km plan offers up to 60% Assured Buyback value.
➢ The 4-years /60 000 km plan offers a 50% Assured Buyback value

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is offered with two battery options - 49 kWh and 61 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate packs, both paired with a front-mounted electric motor driving the front wheels. The 49 kWh version produces around 142bhp and 193 Nm of torque, while the larger 61 kWh variant develops approximately 172bhp with the same torque output. Both versions use a single-speed transmission typical of battery-electric vehicles.
The claimed driving range of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara varies by battery size. The smaller pack delivers 440km, while the larger battery offers 543 km on the MIDC cycle, positioning the SUV among the higher-range offerings in the segment.

Variant availability of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is also linked to battery choice. The entry-level Delta trim is sold exclusively with the 49 kWh battery, whereas the higher Zeta and Alpha variants receive the larger 61 kWh pack.
Charging options include a 7.4kW AC home charger which allows for a 10-80 per cent charge in 6.5 hours for the smaller battery pack and 9 hours for the larger pack. DC fast charging, on the other hand, can achieve the same level in 45 minutes using a 70KW charger.

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara SUV draws design inspiration from the earlier eVX concept and features LED lighting, aerodynamic alloy wheels and protective body cladding. Inside, it gets dual digital displays, connected-car technology, a panoramic glass roof, ventilated seats and advanced driver assistance systems.
Safety equipment includes 7 airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre-pressure monitoring and Level-2 ADAS functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) among others.

Talking about the launch, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing and Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said, "Maruti Suzuki's EV strategy has been developed to ensure that the e VITARA becomes the primary EV choice for customers. The e VITARA offers a commendable driving range of over 543 km, supported by 'e for me' charging ecosystem that mirrors the reliability our customers have trusted for decades.
