Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Real Price Revealed (Without BaaS) - Still Extremely Aggressive
Maruti Suzuki, the nation's leading carmaker, yesterday revealed the prices for its first-ever EV, the e Vitara. Introductory prices for the all-new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara start at ₹10.99 lakh. However, this price is part of the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme, meaning that e Vitara customers have to pay an extra ₹3.99 per kilometre they drive.
And while BaaS may be appealing to customers looking to cut the cost of buying an EV, you have to pay extra to rent the battery pack for every kilometre you drive. Thankfully, that will soon not be the only option for customers, as the non-BaaS prices for the Maruti e Vitara have been revealed.

While Maruti Suzuki hasn't officially revealed the full price list for all three variants of the new e Vitara, the full price list for customers not buying the EV using BaaS has finally been revealed through what appears to be a dealership-level document, which shows off the price list, which includes the price of a home charger and its installation.
Prices for the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, as per this document, start at ₹15.99 lakh (ex-showroom) for the base Delta variant of the first-ever Maruti EV. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Delta variant is the only one of the three variants of the new EV to be offered with the smaller 49kWh battery pack, which allows for a 440km range (MIDC). The Delta variant's electric motor produces 142bhp and 193Nm of peak torque.

The Zeta variant of the new e Vitara is priced at ₹17.49 lakh (ex-showroom). The top-spec Alpha variant of the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is available in both single-tone and dual-tone guises. The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Alpha starts at ₹19.79 lakh for the single-tone variant and ₹20.01 lakh for the dual-tone variant (both prices are ex-showroom).
The Zeta and Alpha variants of the all-new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara are offered with the larger 61kWh battery pack, which allows for a MIDC range of 543km on a single charge. These two variants of the Maruti Suzuki also get a more powerful motor, which develops 172bhp, while retaining the same torque output.

The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara's battery packs support both AC and DC charging options. There are two AC charging options - 7kW and 11kW. The 7kW AC charger charges the smaller battery pack from 10-100% in 6.5 hours, with the larger battery taking 9 hours for the same. Using the 11kW AC, the smaller battery pack charges in 4.5 hours while the large pack charges in 5.5 hours. Finally, when connected to a 70kW fast DC charger, both battery packs charge from 10-80% in just 45 minutes.
The reveal of the full prices of the all-new e Vitara shows just how aggressive Maruti Suzuki is being with its first-ever EV. With three variants and two battery packs on offer, the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara sure looks like it is here to disrupt and own the Indian EV market.
