Maruti Suzuki e Vitara Vs Rivals - Price & Range Comparison:

India's largest carmaker, Maruti Suzuki, has entered the midsize electric SUV segment with its all-new e Vitara. First unveiled at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in January 2025, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara may have arrived late to the game. Still, with its aggressive pricing, it sure looks like Maruti is looking to take over and not just play the game.

The aggression can be seen in the fact that Maruti Suzuki is offering the e Vitara with Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS), something nly MG does with its EV offerings in India. Prices for the e Vitara range from ₹10.99 lakh to ₹14.51 lakh with BaaS, with the battery rental costing an additional ₹3.99/km.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

The e Vitara is offered with either a 49kWh or 61kWh battery packs which deliver ARAI-certified ranges of 440km and 543km, respectively. The single electric motor produces either 142/172 bhp and 193Nm ofpeak torque. The battery p

The new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara goes up against the likes of the MG Windsor EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, Mahindra BE 6, and VinFast VF6. Let's take a look at how the new Maruti Suzuki e Vitara compares with its rivals.

MG Windsor

The MG Windsor EV is one of the best-selling EVs in the Indian market today and is the one most directly competing with the e Vitara in terms of pricing. With BaaS, the Windsor EV actually undercuts the e Vitara with prices ranging from ₹9.99 lakh to ₹13.39 lakh. However, the battery rental ranges from ₹3.9/km to ₹4.5/km (valid only for the Pro variants).

Excluding battery subscription schemes, prices for the MG Windsor EV range between ₹14 lakh to ₹ 18.5 lakh (ex-showroom), depending on variant, which means it also undercuts e Vitara in terms of price, when purchased with BaaS.

Battery options for the MG Windsor EV lineup include 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh packs, with a claimed maximum range figure of 449 km on a single charge, which, while slightly more than the base e Vitara, is nearly 100km short of the e Vitara's range with the larger battery pack.

Mahindra BE 6

The Mahindra BE 6 is priced between ₹18.90 lakh and ₹27.65 lakh (ex-showroom), placing it at the upper end of this category. The BE 6 is bigger in size compared to the e Vitara, and like its Maruti rival, is based on a dedicated electric platform and is the only SUV in this comparison to offer a rear-wheel-drive layout.

The Mahindra BE 6 offersa much larger battery pack ranging from 59kWh to 79kWh that deliver between 557km to 663km of range on a single charge, which is higher than what Maruti offers with the e Vitara.

Hyundai Creta Electric

Hyundai's Creta Electric is priced from ₹17.99 lakh to ₹24.70 lakh (ex-showroom), which makes it significantly more expensive than the Maruti e Vitara. TheCreta Electric unlike the e Vitara and every other car on this list is not built on a born EV platform but instead depends upon a modified version of the one that underpins its ICE sibling.

The Hyundai Creta is offered with two battery packs, a 42 kWh unit and a larger 51.4 kWh pack. The larger battery version of the Hyundai Creta Electric delivers a claimed driving range of up to 510 km, while the smaller battery offers approximately 420 km, bothof which are lower than the two battery options offered with e Vitara.

Tata Curvv EV

The Tata Curvv EV like most of the other SUVs on this list costs more than the e Vitara to purchase with prices ranging from ₹17.49 lakh to ₹22.24 lakh (ex-showroom). It is built on Tata's dedicated acti.EV architecture and positioned as a coupe-style SUV.

The Tata Curvv EV is offered with two battery packs - 45kWh (Medium Range) and 55kWh (Long Range). The Tata Curvv EV Medium range variants offer a range of 430km on a single charge, which is less than the base Delta variant of the e Vitara. The Long Range variants of the Curvv EV offer a range of 583km on a single charge, which is over 40km more than what the higher-spec Zeta and Alpha variants of the e Vitara offer.

VinFast VF6

vinfast vf6

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara also undercuts the base variant of the newcomer VinFast's VF6, which is priced between ₹17.29 lakh and Rs 19.19 lakh (ex-showroom). The Vinfast VF6 is offered with a single 59.6 kWh battery pack that delivers a claimed range of 468 km on a single charge. While the VF6 offers 28km more range than the base e Vitara, it falls 75km short of the range offered by the e Vitara with the 61kWh battery pack.

Compared with its rivals, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is positioned as a more accessible entry point into the midsize electric SUV space, particularly under the battery subscription model. However, the Windsor undercuts it in terms of pricing (with similar battery rentals under BaaS) and the Curvv and the BE 6 offer more range.
