MG IM6 Electric SUV To Launch In October - Via Select Retail Channel
JSW MG Motor India is preparing to introduce the MG IM6 in the country later this year (around October), according to a report by Autocar India. The premium electric MG IM6 SUV will be sold through the company's MG Select retail channel that was designed specifically for its higher-end premium models.
The IM6 forms part of MG's IM (Intelligent Mobility) sub-brand, which was established in 2020 by SAIC Motor in collaboration with technology companies, including Alibaba. The IM6 was one of multiple premium offerings showcased by MG at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

The IM6 will be the third vehicle sold through MG's upcoming Select retail network, after the MG M9 luxury electric MPV and the Cyberster electric roadster.
MG IM6 - Design, Tech & Platform
The IM6 is a mid-size electric SUV with a coupe-like profile and a clean design language shared with the IM5 sedan. Styling highlights include smooth body surfaces, flared wheel arches, slim LED lighting and a full-width LED light bar at the rear.

Inside, the IM6 focuses heavily on digital technology. The cabin features a 26.3-inch panoramic display setup, along with an additional 10.5-inch vertical screen for vehicle controls and infotainment functions.
The MG IM6 SUV is built on a dedicated EV architecture and is positioned as a technology-focused flagship within MG's future electric lineup. The platform also supports high-performance variants, including versions with all-wheel drive and significantly higher power outputs in international markets.

The top-spec IM6 features an 800V electrical architecture that supports DC fast charging at up to 396kW, allowing its 100kWh battery pack to charge from 10 to 80 per cent in just 17 minutes. In terms of range, the RWD version is rated at up to 555km on the WLTP cycle, while the AWD variant offers a WLTP range of 505km.
The battery is paired with two powertrain options globally - a rear-wheel-drive setup producing 408hp and 500Nm, and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive configuration delivering 778hp and 802Nm. These enable claimed 0-100kph acceleration times of 5.4 seconds for the RWD version and 3.4 seconds for the AWD model.
Advanced driver assistance systems are also part of the IM6's package, including LiDAR-based sensing technology and high-performance computing hardware such as the NVIDIA Orin chip and Qualcomm Snapdragon processors.
