Mercedes Benz V-Class Luxury MPV Launched At ₹1.40 Crore — India’s Longest Luxury MPV

Mercedes-Benz has launched the all-new V-Class luxury MPV in India at an introductory price of ₹1.40 crore (ex-showroom). Mercedes has also confirmed that the longest vehicle in its segment will be locally assembled at their Chakan plant in Pune, India. This keeps production costs lower, increases competitiveness and improves the overall ownership experience.

The V-Class is a world-class long-wheelbase (LWB) luxury vehicle from Mercedes-Benz, specially developed for the Indian market and road conditions. It now gets an updated exterior and interior design, along with petrol and diesel powertrain options. It is available in Obsidian Black, High-tech Silver, Alpine Grey, Sodalite Blue and Crystal White.

Exterior Highlights

The Mercedes-Benz V-Class is offered in 4-seat and 6-seat configurations with an extra-long wheelbase of 3,430 mm, making it the longest car in its segment. The exterior design looks premium and sophisticated, featuring the signature three-pointed star grille, Multi-Beam LED headlamps with DRLs, and sporty bumpers.

On the sides, it features electrically operated sliding doors with a van-like silhouette, 18-inch alloy wheels, and an electrically operated upright tailgate with an opening rear glass that enhances ergonomics and convenience. The tail lamps feature vertical LED lighting similar to the previous-generation model.

The interiors are available in both four- and six-seat layouts with dedicated captain seats. For the first time in the Indian market, all seats offer heating, ventilation, and massage functions. The cabin provides class-leading legroom, delivering a highly luxurious travel experience along with extendable leg supports for added comfort.

Powertrain & Transmission

There are two powertrain options available with the V-Class. The V300d diesel engine features a 2.0-litre turbocharged motor producing 237 hp, while the V300 petrol engine delivers 231 hp along with mild-hybrid assistance. Both engines are paired with a 9-speed torque-converter automatic transmission, offering smooth and refined performance.

Premium Features

The V-Class offers AIRMATIC air suspension with adaptive damping as a standard feature, specifically tuned for Indian road conditions to enhance ride comfort. Passengers also get a premium 650W 15-speaker Burmester audio system with Dolby Atmos support, along with sunshades for improved comfort.

The vehicle features a twin-connected touchscreen setup integrating the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster, with support for both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also includes dedicated physical buttons for climate controls, along with ambient lighting to enhance the cabin ambience.

Safety and Technology

Mercedes-Benz continues its focus on combining luxury with safety. The V-Class comes equipped with features such as 7 airbags, an electronic parking brake, Auto Hold, a 360-degree camera, driver monitoring system, an auto-dimming IRVM, adaptive cruise control, TPMS, hill assist, and a 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Pricing and Rivals

The company has announced an introductory price of ₹1.40 crore (ex-showroom) for the Mercedes-Benz V-Class, with deliveries scheduled to begin by the end of this month. At this price point, it offers strong value in the luxury MPV segment, and it rivals vehicles such as the Lexus LM and Toyota Vellfire.
