Skoda Kushaq Facelift Production Begins Ahead Of Launch - Deliveries From March
Škoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt. Ltd. (SAVWIPL) has started production of the updated Skoda Kushaq SUV at its Chakan plant near Pune. The facelifted Skoda Kushaq SUV has rolled off the assembly line just weeks after it was first unveiled in January.
Customer deliveries of the Skoda Kushaq facelift will begin in March 2026, and bookings for the SUV are already open. The Skoda Kushaq, which was first launched back in 2021, was the first vehicle developed under the Volkswagen Group's INDIA 2.0 programme and marked the beginning of a localisation programme aimed at expanding the Group's presence in the Indian passenger vehicle market.

The updated Kushaq is manufactured at the VW Group's Chakan facility near Pune, which produces several locally developed models for domestic sales and export markets. The plant serves as the main production hub for Škoda and Volkswagen passenger vehicles built on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which underpins models like the Slavia, Kushaq and Kylaq from Škoda as well as the Taigun and Virtus from Volkswagen.
Skoda Kushaq Facelift - What's Changed
The updated 2026 Skoda Kushaq brings with it a host of much-needed changes to help keep it competitive in one of the toughest segments in the Indian car market, which is dominated by the Hyundai Creta.
The new Skoda Kushaq features new LED lighting, a grille that looks like it has been taken from the larger Kodiaq. The facelifted Kushaq also gets new alloy wheels, as well as new connected taillights and illuminated Skoda badging.
Step inside the cabin of the facelifted Kushaq and you'll find a larger 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a new panoramic sunroof and massage functionality for the rear seats, which is a first in the segment. Other highlights include wireless charging, ventilated front seats, and a cooled glove box.
The big update to the powertrain comes in the form of a new 8-speed automatic gearbox from AISIN. Which replaces the previously offered 6-speed unit. The 6-speed manual gearbox has been retained, as has the 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine, which pushes out 114bhp and 178Nm of peak torque.
Deliveries of the updated Skoda Kushaq will commence nationwide next month, and the updated Czech SUV will continue to compete in the midsize segment against models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Safari, Maruti Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder.
