Both the Nexon and Punch are offered with petrol/diesel (ICE) and electric powertrain options. These models compete in the sub-4-metre segment, which currently remains the most preferred category among Indian car buyers due to affordability, practicality, and feature-rich offerings.

While Maruti Suzuki continues to lead the overall sales chart, Tata Motors has firmly established itself in second place. The company recently introduced an updated version of the Punch SUV, featuring several segment-first technologies like a 360-degree camera, a blind-spot monitoring system, SOS calling, an UltraView touchscreen infotainment system, and an upgraded audio setup with four speakers and four tweeters.

Tata Motors also maintains a dominant position in India's electric vehicle market with an expanding EV portfolio. The Nexon EV remains the country's most popular electric car, and the company is further strengthening its lineup with models such as the Tiago EV and the Harrier EV. The company is also planning to launch the Sierra EV by 2027.

Additionally, Tata recently updated the Punch EV with improvements, including a larger battery pack and enhanced driving range. By offering a diverse range of products across multiple price segments, Tata Motors continues to attract a broad range of buyers while strengthening consumer trust in India.
