Tata Sierra Surpasses 10,000 Deliveries- Iconic SUV Makes A Strong Return

Tata Motors has announced that the Tata Sierra has crossed the 10,000 delivery milestone in India. The recently relaunched compact SUV is witnessing strong market traction, reflecting growing consumer interest in the revived nameplate. Offered with multiple powertrain choices and a comprehensive list of premium features, the Sierra's comeback appears to be resonating well with buyers across segments.

The Sierra is one of the brand's iconic SUVs, originally introduced in the 1990s. It has now been reintroduced with an updated design, refreshed styling, and advanced features. The model has been well-received by customers, and the company officially announced the 10,000-unit milestone on its social media platforms.

It features Sabre LED headlamps and tail lamps with welcome and goodbye functions. It also gets premium connected LED DRLs and sequential indicators. Its standout design elements include a rear glasshouse inspired by the original Sierra, a clamshell tailgate with gesture control, a hidden rear wiper with washer, and premium 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels.

Some of the interior highlights include a screen-to-screen panoramic infotainment display, an AR-based HUD, a 360-degree camera, an 8-speaker JBL-powered sound system with Dolby Atmos, mood lighting, ambient lighting, and leatherette seats with ventilation.

The compact SUV is powered by a 1.5L Revotron naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 106 PS and 145 Nm of torque, a 1.5L turbo petrol engine producing 160 PS and 255 Nm of torque, and a 1.5L diesel engine producing 118 PS and 280 Nm of torque.

Transmission options include a 6-speed manual, 7-speed DCA, and a 6-speed automatic (for the turbo variant). It also gets a segment-first Superglide suspension, all-wheel disc brakes, a Level 2 ADAS safety suite, and an Electronic Stability Program (ESP).

The price of the Sierra starts at ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line variant sells at ₹21.29 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals models such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, MG Astor, and the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
