Top 10 Carmakers (February 2026 Sales) — Maruti, Tata & Mahindra Lead
India's passenger vehicle market recorded 4,20,523 units in February 2026, registering year-on-year growth of 39,834 units or 10.46 percent compared to 3,80,689 units sold in February 2025. Growth during the month was supported by strong SUV demand and continued expansion by several manufacturers.
However, sales declined compared to the previous month. The market had recorded 4,52,589 units in January 2026, meaning February volumes were 32,066 units lower, translating to a 7.09 percent month-on-month decline.
Top 10 Carmakers (February 2026 Sales) - Performance Breakdown
1) Maruti Suzuki - 1,60,791 Units
Maruti Suzuki remained the market leader with 1,60,791 units in February 2026, up 519 units YoY (+0.32%) over the 1,60,272 units sold in February 2025. However, compared to the 1,74,529 units in January 2026, Maruti's sales declined by 13,738 units MoM (-7.87%).
2) Tata Motors - 51,321 Units
Tata Motors reported 51,321 units, marking YoY growth of 14,077 units (+37.8%) over 37,244 units last year. However, sales fell 18,901 units MoM (-26.9%) compared to 70,222 units in January 2026.
3) Mahindra - 50,420 Units
Mahindra recorded 50,420 units, up 8,019 units YoY (+18.9%) compared to 42,401 units last year. Month-on-month sales declined 13,090 units (-20.6%) from 63,510 units in January.
4) Hyundai - 52,407 Units
Hyundai sold 52,407 units, posting YoY growth of 5,320 units (+11.3%) over 47,087 units in February 2025. MoM sales declined 6,700 units (-11.3%) from 59,107 units in January.
5) Toyota - 30,737 Units
Toyota recorded 30,737 units sold last month, growing 4,323 units YoY (+16.4%) over 26,414 units last year. Month-on-month sales were nearly flat, rising 107 units (+0.35%) from 30,630 units in January.
6) Kia - 27,610 Units
Kia reported 27,610 units, up 2,584 units YoY (+10.3%) compared to 25,026 units last year. Compared to 27,603 units in January, sales were almost unchanged, increasing 7 units MoM (+0.03%).
7) Skoda - 6,361 Units
Skoda posted 6,361 units, registering YoY growth of 2,214 units (+53.4%) over 4,147 units last year. Month-on-month sales rose 622 units (+10.8%) compared to 5,739 units in January.
8) Honda - 5,629 Units
Honda recorded 5,629 units, down 987 units YoY (-14.9%) from 6,616 units in February 2025. Compared to 6,193 units in January, sales fell 564 units MoM (-9.1%).
9) MG Motor - 4,957 Units
MG Motor sold 4,957 units, representing YoY growth of 425 units (+9.4%) over 4,532 units last year. Month-on-month sales increased 114 units (+2.35%) from 4,843 units in January.
10) Renault - 3,495 Units
Renault reported 3,495 units, marking YoY growth of 520 units (+17.5%) compared to 2,975 units last year. However, sales declined 220 units MoM (-5.9%) from 3,715 units in January.
