Toyota Rumion Now Cheaper By ₹95,000 — New Base E Variant Launched
Japanese carmaker Toyota has introduced a new base-spec E variant for the Toyota Rumion MPV in India, priced at ₹9.56 lakh (ex-showroom). The addition of this trim lowers the entry price of the Toyota Rumion by ₹95,000 compared to the earlier base S MT variant, which is priced at ₹10.51 lakh (ex-showroom).
With the new variant, the Rumion lineup now starts below the ₹10 lakh mark, which could help buyers benefit from lower road tax slabs in several states. The introduction of the E trim means that the Toyota Rumion is now offered in four trims - E, S, G and V.

Toyota Rumion E - What The Base Variant Gets
Being the entry-level trim, the Toyota Rumion E comes with a more basic equipment list. Key features include projector halogen headlamps, LED tail-lamps, manual air-conditioning, all four power windows, six airbags and rear parking sensors.
However, it lacks several convenience features available in higher trims. The base Rumion variant does not get an infotainment system or speakers, and also skips items such as powered ORVMs and rear AC vents that are available on the S variant.
Visually, the E trim also loses some cosmetic elements compared to higher variants. It does not get body-coloured door handles and ORVMs, and the turn indicators are mounted on the front fender rather than on the ORVMs.
The new Toyota Rumion E variant is offered only with a petrol-manual configuration. It is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 103hp, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Unlike the S variant, the new base trim does not get a CNG option or an automatic transmission.
In the Indian market, the Toyota Rumion competes with models such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Kia Carens and Maruti Suzuki XL6.
