Toyota Rumion Now Starts At ₹9.55 Lakh With New Base E Variant
Toyota Kirloskar Motor has launched a new affordable variant of its budget MPV, the Toyota Rumion, in India. The new E variant is priced at just ₹9.55 lakh (ex-showroom) and is now available for sale. Previously, the S trim served as the base variant in the Rumion lineup.
Toyota Rumion New E Variant
The Toyota Rumion is the brand's most affordable MPV in India, and it is based on the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga. With the introduction of the new E trim, the model becomes even more accessible for buyers. The new variant will now be sold alongside the S, G, and V trims.

Powertrain
Under the hood, the Rumion E variant is powered by the same 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 103 PS and 139 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Toyota claims a maximum fuel efficiency of 20.51 km/l. However, this entry-level variant does not get a CNG option or an automatic transmission.
Exterior
The new budget trim of the 7-seater MPV is similar to the base LXi trim of the Ertiga. On the exterior, it features a chrome front grille, LED tail lamps, halogen headlamps, and 15-inch steel wheels with silver wheel caps.

Interior
Inside the cabin, the Rumion E trim features a dual-tone beige/ black interior theme with silver inserts. It does not include an infotainment system and instead features an analogue instrument cluster. The air-conditioning system is controlled through physical buttons, and steering-mounted controls are not available in this variant.
Convenience & Safety features
In terms of practicality, it has a 60:40 split second-row seats with one-touch recline and slide function, adjustable headrests for all three rows, a cabin lamp, a front-row 12V power socket, and smartphone storage spaces.

Despite being the entry-level trim, it still offers essential convenience features, including tilt-adjustable steering, power windows with an Auto Up/down function, and a central locking system. On the safety front, the Rumion E trim comes equipped with six airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), rear parking sensors, hill hold assist, and ABS with EBD.
Pricing
The Toyota Rumion E trim starts at ₹9.55 lakh (ex-showroom), while the top-of-the-line V trim is priced at ₹13.86 lakh (ex-showroom). The MPV competes with rivals such as the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Maruti Suzuki XL6, Renault Triber, and the upcoming Nissan Gravite.
