VinFast Reveals New VF8 Electric SUV With 500 KM Range And Fresh Design
VinFast has revealed the second-generation VinFast VF8 electric SUV. The updated model has been launched in its home country and comes with several new features, updated styling and a redesigned interior.
Second Gen Vinfast VF8 Revealed
The new VF8 now looks sleeker and more modern compared to the previous-generation model. It features eyebrow-shaped LED headlights with integrated DRLs and signature V-shaped LED tail-lights. The blacked-out bumper further enhances the sporty appearance of the SUV, giving it a more aggressive and premium look.

Additionally, the SUV gets 19-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, prominent wheel arches and contrasting front and rear bumpers that blend well with the overall lighting design. In terms of dimensions, the new VinFast VF8 is slightly smaller than its predecessor but now offers increased ground clearance for better road presence and usability.
Interior Highlights
On the inside, the cabin has been completely redesigned with a more minimalistic and modern layout. The SUV now comes with a smaller 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system instead of the previous 15.67-inch unit. Other interior highlights include a fully digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel with mounted controls, horizontal AC vents and a steering column-mounted gear selector.
Some of the key features offered in the new-generation VF8 include dual-zone climate control, an air purifier, a 6-way powered driver seat with memory function, an 8-speaker sound system, ADAS features, a 360-degree camera and an electronic parking brake.

Battery and Range
The new-generation VinFast VF8 now comes with a smaller 60.13 kWh battery pack compared to the previous model's larger 87.7 kWh unit. It is available in a front-wheel-drive configuration and is powered by an electric motor producing 228 hp and 330 Nm of torque, both figures being higher than the previous-generation version.
VinFast claims the updated VF8 can deliver a maximum driving range of up to 500 km on a full charge, which is around 62 km lower than before. The SUV also supports fast charging technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10 to 70 percent in under 30 minutes.
VinFast already has the VinFast VF6 and VinFast VF7 for the Indian market. However, it is not yet confirmed whether the new-generation VF8 will also be launched in India. Considering the updated design and feature additions, the company could eventually use these new design layout for the existing cars in India.
