Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Launched At Rs 46.99 Lakh - New 7-Seater Flagship
German carmaker Volkswagen has launched the Tayron R-Line in India at an introductory price of Rs 46.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The seven-seat Volkswagen Tayron R-Line SUV is locally assembled and replaces the Tiguan Allspace as the brand's flagship three-row offering in the country.
Positioned above the Tiguan R-Line, the Tayron R-Line marks Volkswagen's return to the premium three-row SUV segment after several years of absence. It is offered in a single fully loaded configuration and targets buyers in the upper end of the mainstream SUV market.

The Tayron R-Line features sport-oriented styling with R-Line bumpers, large alloy wheels and distinctive badging. Lighting elements include Matrix LED headlamps, a full-width light bar and illuminated Volkswagen logos at both ends.
Compared with the Tiguan R-Line, the Tayron is larger overall and rides on a longer wheelbase to accommodate a third row of seating. The SUV is built on the MQB EVO platform shared with other larger Volkswagen Group models.

Inside, the Tayron R-Line offers a three-row, seven-seat cabin. The dashboard houses a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch digital driver display, along with a head-up display and multi-colour ambient lighting.
Additional equipment includes powered front seats with memory, ventilation and massage functions, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control and a powered tailgate. An 11-speaker Harman Kardon sound system is also part of the package.
Volkswagen Tayron R-Line Launched: Powertrain

Power comes from a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine producing 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system.
The VW Tayron R-Line's drivetrain is shared with the Tiguan R-Line and enables the SUV to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in around 7.3 seconds, with an electronically limited top speed of 224 km/h.

The Tayron R-Line competes with premium three-row SUVs such as the Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian and MG Gloster. Its launch re-establishes Volkswagen's presence in this segment following the discontinuation of the Tiguan Allspace.
