Chevrolet Adra Compact SUV Concept For Auto Expo 2014
The Ford EcoSport compact SUV competitor from Chevrolet that was previously reported to debut in India as a concept car at the Auto Expo 2014 now has a name. The Chevy compact SUV concept will reportedly be called Adra.
Chevrolet Adra compact SUV is expected to be based on General Motors' small vehicle platform, Gamma 2 that's also used by the Trax SUV. The Trax is at present the smallest SUV/Crossover offered by Chevrolet. But it is prevented from selling Trax in India because it is still longer than 4 meters, meaning it cannot qualify for excise cuts, enjoyed by rival Ford EcoSport.

It remains to be seen whether Chevy Adra concept will be a more compact version of Trax or an entirely new vehicle.
The EcoSport and Duster rival from Chevrolet will likely be powered by the 77 HP, 1.3 liter petrol engine that's seen in the Sail and Enjoy models. Chevrolet Adra will not enter production before 2015.
Other than the Adra compact SUV Concept, Chevrolet's stand at the Auto Expo 2014 will showcase the facelifted Beat, a special Beat painted in Manchester United Colours, the Trailblazer SUV and the Chevrolet Camaro. But the star attraction will be the new Corvette C7 Stingray sports car that debuted at the 2013 Detroit motor Show.
