Formula E Cars Sound Futuristic & Surprisingly Loud, Says CEO
When the 2014 Formula 1 cars took off during the season opener at the Australian Grand Prix they left everyone hugely disappointed. These race cars which previously were deafeningly loud, now sounded like vacuum cleaners.
Fans, organizers and even Bernie Ecclestone himself has expressed severe displeasure over the far quieter cars, which everyone feels, takes away the excitement of motor racing.

When the reaction to the 2014 F1 cars has been this severe then it is not a good sign for the all-electric, Formula-E championship. After all, F1 cars still have V6 combustion engines, whereas Formula-E cars just have electric motors.
To prevent viewers from reaching any premature conclusions about Formula-E, CEO Alejandro Agag says their electric cars will surprise everyone by how loud they are. And to prove this they will release a video in the coming days.

Speaking during an interview with ET, Agag said that Formula-E cars sound futuristic and loud, much like a fighter jet or even like the Podracers from Star Wars.
While they naturally will not sound like combustion engines, they will neither sound like anything else people have heard till now, Agag says. He is positive viewers will love it and not miss the sound made by combustion engines.
Formula E championship begins in September this year, with the first of the 10 races scheduled to take place in Beijing.
