Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG Revealed, Debut At Detroit Motor Show
For those who like the A-Class, but love sporty crossovers Mercedes-Benz introduced the GLA Class, a slightly raised version of the hatchback. This was followed by the usual AMG treatment, resulting in the GLA45 AMG.
Previewed for the first time as a pre-production car at the Los Angeles Auto Show last year, the GLA45 AMG is easily the best looking version of the A-Class and also one of the most appealing hot hatch design till date.

Mercedes-Benz has now released the first images and video of the production version of the GLA4 AMG which will debut later this month at the Detroit Motor Show.
Power comes from the same engine as the A45 AMG, which is a 2.0 liter turbocharged four cylinder engine.
Mercedes calls this engine the most powerful series-production four-cylinder engine in the world.
The engine generates 355 HP power and 450 Nm of torque which is transferred to all four wheels through AMG Performance 4MATIC all-wheel-drive system.
The GLA45 AMG's engine is coupled to an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports dual clutch transmission.
The GLA45 AMG is only slightly slower than the A45 AMG and can reach 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. Top speed is the same 250 km/h, which is electronically limited.
Despite the slight bulk, the GLA45 AMG manages to deliver a mileage 13 kmpl. For comparison, the A45 AMG gives 14.5 km to a liter. CO2 emission is 175 g/km.
The production version of the GLA45 AMG remains almost unchanged from the pre-production model. The only major changes, besides the sports livery and black accent paint jobs are the missing roof mounted spoiler and a differently styled wheel design. The tyres measure 255/35 R 21.
Mercedes-Benz GLA45 AMG is expected to hit European roads by mid 2014. Its launch in India is likely to take by the end of the year.
