Driving fast and finding that your car's brakes have failed will be one nightmarish situation that you would like to avoid. 2.Concentrate on the road and drive carefully. Maintain distance with pedestrians and other vehicles. Switch on your headlights and use the horn to notify other road users.
3.Change the car's gear to a lower gear as it will reduce speed.
4.Always remember to use the parking/emergency hand brake. However do not apply it suddenly. Rather use it mildly.
5.Keep on pressing on the brake pedal as the car's speed can reduce mildly.
6.Try to move your car out of asphalted road and move it to the side on the mud. The mud will provide increased friction and will help reduce speed.
7.In a completely unavoidable situation try to collide your car with another vehicle moving in front of you only if your car has sufficient air bags.
8.If all the above fail, you should look for a small tree or bushes that can take the pressure of your car. Avoid hitting old and large trees.

Prevention is always better than cure. Hence always check your car's brakes are working fine. Ensure there is sufficient brake fluid. Avoid driving faster that the speed limit as you will be in a better shape to control the car in lower speeds than in higher speeds.

A brake failure in the car can certainly be a traumatic experience. Following the above tips might help you reduce or avoid injuries and damage to your car.
