Asia Cup 2025: Abhishek Sharma Awarded Haval H9 For Player Of The Tournament Heroics
India's swashbuckling opener Abhishek Sharma was declared Player of the Tournament at after India defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025. The marauding left-handed batsman's consistent batting displays throughout the competition (despite a rare failure in the final) earned him the accolade of the best player of the tournament.
At the post-match presentation, Abhishek Sharma received the keys to a brand-new Haval H9 SUV from Chinese automaker Great Wall Motors as part of his winnings for being declared the Player of the Tournament. For many Indian viewers, it was their first glimpse of the large Chinese SUV...

The Haval H9 has been sold internationally since 2014 and is marketed as the flagship SUV of Great Wall Motors' Haval division. Exported to markets in Asia, Australia, and the Middle East, the Haval H9 competes with the likes of the Toyota Fortuner and Mitsubishi Pajero Sport.
Built on a ladder-frame chassis, the Haval H9 measures almost five metres in length and sits on a 2,800 mm wheelbase. The H9 features a seven-seat configuration that spans three rows and is designed for families and for off-roading use. The Haval H9 offers a high ground clearance of 224mm.

Inside, the Haval H9 features leather upholstery, dual displays, a panoramic sunroof, and multi-zone climate control. There a re multiple options for the upholstery and both the middle and final row can be folded down and configured to balance seating and luggage needs.
The Haval H9 is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivering 215 bhp and 324 Nm of torque. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic gearbox from ZF that sends power to all four wheels through a four-wheel-drive system with selectable terrain modes that allow the Haval H9 to tackle mud, snow, sand, and rock trails.

Haval H9 Exterior Design
The Haval H9's suspension setup uses independent double wishbones at the front and a multi-link setup at the rear. Hill descent control and electronic traction systems are standard. Safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child-seat anchors, and tyre pressure monitoring. Higher trims of the Haval H9 offer lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, and a 360-degree camera.
Great Wall Motors, founded in 1984, has grown into one of China's largest automakers. With millions of vehicles sold worldwide, the company focuses on SUVs, pickups, and electric vehicles.
Great Wall Motors announced plans to enter India in 2020 with a major investment and by acquiring the Talegoan production facility of General Motors, but regulatory hurdles and strained diplomatic ties stalled progress, which finally led to the carmaker pulling out of the country in 2022.
