Meet Bengaluru Police's New QRT Bikes - 50 Custom Honda CB350s Join The Fleet

The Bengaluru City Police have expanded their emergency fleet with 50 specially equipped Honda CB350 motorcycles, designed for their Quick Response Team operations. The addition is aimed at improving on-ground mobility and reducing response times during emergencies across the city's dense traffic network.

The motorcycles were handed over by the Honda India Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Honda, under its national road-safety programme Sadak Sahayak: Surakshit Marg, Surakshit Jiwan. The custom bikes were handed over to the Bengaluru Police last week.

Each Honda CB350 unit has been custom-built for police duty, equipped with revolving flashers, blinkers, a public-announcement system, a siren, a flashlight, and dedicated storage boxes. Two safety helmets are also included per bike, all finished in the department's official livery for visibility and quick identification.

These motorcycles are part of Honda India Foundation's larger plan to deliver 300 customised CB350 Quick Response Team vehicles across multiple Indian states by the end of 2025, including Karnataka, Gujarat, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. The Bengaluru batch marks the first major handover under the project's initial rollout phase.

The standard Honda CB350 is powered by a 348.66 cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces around 20.7 bhp and 29.4 Nm of torque, paired with a five-speed gearbox. While the mechanical package remains unchanged, the focus of the police-spec units is on reliability, endurance, and emergency utility.

Bengaluru's police units have long depended on smaller displacement motorcycles for patrolling congested city zones. The new CB350 QRT motorcycles provide the department with larger, more capable vehicles that can handle extended patrol hours and carry essential safety or first-aid equipment without compromising agility.

These custom Honda CB350 motorcycles will be deployed at key traffic junctions, market areas, and public event venues. Their compact form and enhanced lighting systems are expected to help officers reach accident or disturbance sites faster, particularly in areas inaccessible to four-wheel patrol units.

The introduction of these motorcycles reflects an ongoing effort to modernise police response infrastructure across India's major metros. With Bengaluru's growing vehicle density and limited road space, the integration of high-mobility motorcycles such as the Honda CB350 provides an immediate tactical advantage in ensuring faster incident response and public safety coverage.
