Drag racing is an extremely popular motorsports in Western countries, attracting huge crowds who come to watch insanely powerful dragsters shoot down the track as they try to outrun each other, with gaps between the winner and loser measure in milliseconds.

Though each race lasts only a few seconds, the sheer excitement of watching the funny cars and listening to the roar of their engines is rewarding enough for the fans. Due to the dangers involved with drag racing, high levels of precaution is taken. This includes use of strong, but lightweight materials that shatter on impact and absorb most of the impact damage. Also, drivers are required to wear fireproof clothing, which save lives during incidents such as this.
