An unmanned aerial vehicle being tested by the Defence Research and Development Organisation crash-landed on agricultural land near Chitradurga, Karnataka. The drone had a camera attached to it and was being tested to monitor the outer perimeters of DRDO's labs in the area.

The Drone was monitoring the outsides of DRDO's Kudapur aeronautical test range nearby. Pilots of the small practice drone lost control of it around 3 kilometres outside the test facility.

Nobody was hurt in the crash-landing and no damage was done to the surroundings. The drone itself is in pieces and would require a lot of repairs before it is up and flying again.

The drone in question is not an advanced unmanned aerial vehicle like those used in combat, but is a much smaller one which looks more like a remote-controlled aircraft used by hobbyists. Just that this aircraft was being used for testing.

DriveSpark Thinks!
The drone crash in Chitradurga didn't harm anybody. The drone that crashed too wasn't a big, expensive drone and so it isn't as big a loss to the DRDO, and crashes like this are expected when equipment is being tested.
