The Indian Police can take a leaf out of Dubai Police for the technologies employed in their patrolling fleet.

Already home to Lamborghini patrol cars, self-driving robots, and Android officers, the Dubai Police has taken to a whole new level and have decided to patrol from the sky with what can be described as a flying motorbike.

The flying motorbike of Dubai Police called the Scorpion, is designed by Russian tech company Hoversurf. The flying bike relies on four propellers to stay airborne with the rider perched on it very close to the exposed blades.

The Hoversurf is capable of flying at 40mph (64kmh) with a travel time of 25 minutes. The single-seat flying bike can carry up to 600 lbs (272kg) and can also operate autonomously.

    Dubai Police has decided to add the flying bike to its growing list of cutting-edge gadgets to its patrolling fleet, all part of its "smart city" plans.

    As per the Facebook page of Hoversurf CEO Alexander Atamanov, the company has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Dubai Police and has been invited to mass produce the vehicle in the Dubai area.

    Dubai Police unveiled the flying motorbike by Hoversurf at Dubai's Gitex Technology show; the Scorpion was showcased alongside a new electric motorbike concept by Japanese firm Mikasa with a top speed of 124mph (200kmh) according to the police.
