The FASTag Annual Pass in India has surpassed 50 lakh users, recording 26.55 crore transactions within six months of its launch. Currently valid across more than 1,150 toll plazas nationwide, the annual pass, introduced on August 15, 2025, has improved convenience for frequent highway users by simplifying toll payments.
FASTag Annual Pass Hits 50 Lakh Users Milestone
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) stated, "The FASTag Annual Pass has achieved a significant milestone by crossing 50 lakh users, with over 26.55 crore transactions recorded within six months of its launch."

Region-wise, Chandigarh leads usage with 14%, followed by Tamil Nadu at 12.3% and Delhi at 11.5%. Delhi NCR's Bijwasan Fee Plaza has emerged as one of the most frequently used toll points under this annual pass system.
The number of users is expected to rise further as more people are shifting from regular toll payments to the annual pass, which offers better cost efficiency for frequent travellers. The initiative has received positive feedback from commuters as it reduces travel stress and simplifies toll payments, compared to the traditional pay-per-use system.

The FASTag Annual Pass is a yearly subscription that is valid across eligible toll plazas in India. It is primarily designed for non-commercial personal vehicles that frequently use toll roads for daily commuting. With a one-time payment of ₹3,000 per year, users can make up to 200 toll crossings annually, reducing the toll fee to ₹15 per trip without any additional fees.
The government has clarified that this pass applies only to non-commercial vehicles. Commercial vehicles must continue paying regular toll charges. Additionally, some state-run toll plazas are not covered, as they operate under separate toll systems.
Because of this, users are advised to maintain an adequate balance in their FASTag accounts when travelling through state-managed toll plazas.
