Ferrari F1 Car Flies Into Barcelona

A Formula 1 race car is usually transported from one race to the other in transport trucks and in transport aircrafts when races are held across oceans. A no fanfare event. But advertising and marketing teams can come up with such crazy ideas that they turn even mundane events into a spectacle.

This is exactly what happened ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix. Ferrari's largest sponsor, Santander Bank, saw a marketing opportunity in transporting the Ferrari F138 Formula 1 car. Alonso's F1 car arrived at Barcelona's Catalunya Circuit hanging underneath a helicopter.

The spectacular stunt must have surprised, stunned and amazed the citizens of the city as they found a Formula 1 car in their sky one fine morning. Clearly visible are Santander logos everywhere. Fans in Barcelona got to witness something they will probably never forget and Santander got to promote itself in a not too expensive, but sensational manner. The whole show was recorded of course, for the viewing pleasure of the rest of the world. Images and video in the gallery below.
