Formula 1 Book “The Bernie” From Opus Will Cost At Least $1 Million
This book is the mother of all books. It's formally called "The Official Formula One Opus BERNIE Edition" and it has a price tag of $1 million and that's just the start price. That's because "The Bernie" is a one-off book that will be sold to the highest bidder. It's final price is only limited by how much spare money someone has and how willing he or she is to spend that kind of amount for, what's being described as the "largest, most lavish, most comprehensive work ever to be published on the history of Formula One motor racing"

The Bernie has been published by publication house Opus Media, but its no ordinary book. Yes, it costs more than most supercars, but it also comes with several unique features and several perks, which - only to an extent - justifies the crazy price tag.
These features and perks are as follows:
- First off, the book has 852 pages, measures 18in x 18in x 8in and weighs an incredible 37 kilograms. The entire book is encased in a shiny carbon fiber cover for protection in case you drop it.
- The book comes with 1200 ‘never seen before' photographs from Formula 1 history and also includes a signature sheet containing autographs of every single F1 World Champion. That's 22 signatures. And of course, Bernie Ecclestone has also signed the book. After all, it was he who helped materialize the book.
- Lastly, and most importantly, the book is also a one time open-access red pass for every single Grand Prix during the 2014 season. Not just for the book owner, but also for three guests. That includes a table at the Paddock Club throughout the entire weekend of each race and access to the pit lanes. The pass will even allow you to take tea with Bernie in the paddock.
Speaking about the development of the book, it took the publishers 5 years to make the book. But the book is sure to fly off the shelf very soon despite its hefty price tag which is only set to go up. The book, which is to be auctioned in Abu Dhabi this December, is reported to have already attracted interest from all over the world.
Don't be disheartened if you cannot own the most awesome book on F1 ever because Opus also has on offer, a silk-covered "classic" edition (only includes Bernie's signature) of the same book of which 1500 will be sold for £2,000 or $3,260 and a carbon-fibre covered "champions" edition containing Bernie's as well the 22 F1 world champions' signatures. This edition will be limited to 100 copies and will retail for £20,000 or $32,602.
