This MP Driving A Toyota Innova Crysta Breaks Barricade And Almost Runs Over Cops
A Karnataka MP representing Mysore misbehaved with the cops for stopping him at a checkpoint.
We have often seen people having heated arguments with cops for not following rules in India. But in this case, it was the BJP Lok Sabha MP who is in the headlines for misbehaving with the Karnataka Police.
Pratap Simha, the MP representing Mysore was barred from entering Hunsur due to the prohibitory orders issued ahead of the Hanuma Jayanti celebrations in Hunsur, near Mysore, Karnataka.

Simha was stopped at a police check post at Bilikere. The MP then got down from the car and can be seen arguing with cops for stopping him. Then he gets into the driver's seat of the Innova Crysta and breaks a barricade and suddenly accelerates ahead almost running over the cops.

Media channels captured the entire incident. TOI reports that in reply to the incident, Karnataka Police has filed criminal cases against Simha for dangerous driving and obstructing police from performing their duty.
The criminal cases have been filed under section 353 (Assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332 (Voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 279 (rash and negligent driving).
The MP who is also the chief of BJP youth wing (Yuva Morcha) was arrested and released later. Simha also tweeted the same on his Twitter account stating that the Police is all set to file criminal cases against him.

Now imagine yourself in a similar kind of situation and what would you do upon stopped by the cops? First of all, it is illegal to drive away from a police checkpoint. So, whenever a cop stops you at a checkpoint do stop. Damaging public property and causing harm to public servants is also a criminal offence.

You should always remember that driving is not a right, but it is a privilege provided to you. You should always drive carefully as the car can hurt or even kill people if driven rashly. Especially, the first gear of a car has ample amount of torque which is enough to kill a person upon impact. So, always be careful when driving, especially on crowded roads.

DriveSpark Thinks!
By looking at the entire incident, it looks like the MP was angry on the cops for stopping him. But damaging the public property and driving dangerously is not the right behaviour from a person who is representing Mysore. Whenever a cop stops you, there is a reason behind it. You should first speak to them and try to understand the situation and then act responsibly.
