Kia's Binky Dad Captures Hearts As Jeep Does The Electric Boogie - Best Super Bowl LVII Car Ads
Super Bowl, the biggest night on the American sports calendar saw carmakers pay through their noses for their 60 seconds in the lights.
Super Bowl, the biggest night on the American sports calendar saw carmakers pay through their noses for their 60 seconds in the lights as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Philadelphia Eagles to claim the Vince Lombardi Trophy For the second time in 4 years.
This year, three major carmakers- GM, Stellantis and Kia paid for the ultra-high-priced ad slots. And while the ads from the two American brands under the stellantis brand (Jeep & Ram) were funny in different ways, GM teamed up with Netflix to try and get more Americans to accept EVs.

However, it was Kia with its ad for the Telluride SUV that captured the hearts and minds at Super Bowl LVII. The Ad dubbed 'Binky Dad', sees a couple checking into a hotel high in the mountains with their young toddler. As they are checking in, the mom turns to the father and asks if he packed the 'Binky' (A pacifier for those who are not Americans).
The father realising that he hasn't packed said Binky rushes out of the hotel screaming that he forgot the binky and gets into his Kia Telluride X-Pro when he is captured on camera by what appears to be a tik toker. His journey from the mountains into downtown LA goes viral and captures the imagination of the country as the Kia Telluride shows off its off-roading prowess.
He gets home and gets the binky, much to the joy of the country and gets back to the hotel. However, as plops the binky into his little girl's mouth, she spits it out as the mother comments that she likes the blue one setting him off on another larger-than-life adventure.
The Stellantis Group showcased two ads at Super Bowl LVII. The Jeep ad hilariously introduced the American audience to its upcoming line of electric SUVs with a reimagined version of the electric slide dance in an ad that featured the artist Shaggy in an ad dubbed 'Electric Boogie'.
However, Ram, the Stellantis brand known for its pickup trucks went down the path of innuendo with its ad for the RAM 1500 REV electric pickup that comes out in 2024. If your mind finds itself in the gutter too many times to count, this ad will leave you in splits.
Finally, GM teamed up with Netflix to make EVs more acceptable to Americans. For this, they recruited actor and comedian Will Farrell who took up roles from various Netflix shows like Squid Games and Stranger Things among others in a hilarious pitch for acceptance.
Thoughts About The Car Ads At Super Bowl LVII
Super Bowl is when Americans play their version of football for the world to see and show off some of the best ads we see all year. This year the ads were a bit on the funny side which made them so much better in our humble opinion.
