Need For Speed Ford Mustang To Be NASCAR Pace Car
The hero car from the upcoming Need For Speed movie, a specially built, one-off Ford Mustang will be ,making its first public appearance later this week in Florida. The movie car will be taking on the role of a pace car.

The custom Ford Mustang will be the pace car for the Ford EcoBoost 400 race on November 17, the last race of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. The race will take place at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, with Ramon Rodriguez, an actor from the NFS movie, behind the wheels.

The one off Ford Mustang is a custom wide body wearing 22 inch wheels, body kit and powered by a supercharged V8 engine of unspecified power. According to Ford, the car is capable of supporting 900 HP.

The custom Ford will be the hero car in the movie, driven by actor Aaron Paul. The car will also make its virtual debut with the Need For Speed Rivals game that will be released this month. The movie releases on March 14, 2014.

The custom Ford Mustang also features enlarged air intakes on the bonnet and bumper, large front splitters, rear diffuser, side skirts among other modifications.
"With Mustang being a central character in this racing-oriented movie, it seemed only fitting to showcase the car here at Homestead and help serve as a great springboard to our various celebrations recognizing 50 years of Mustang in 2014," said Steve Ling, Ford car marketing manager.
