The Tejas Express is set to hit the tracks from Mumbai to Goa in June and it heralds the future of Train travel in India.
Indian Railways is set to unleash a new train that it claims will showcase the future of train travel in India." The new train will be called the Tejas Express and here are a few things you should know about the new train service.

The Tejas Express will start operations In June and the train will ply between Mumbai and Goa at a maximum speed of 130km/h. After the Mumbai-Goa route, the Tejas is expected to tackle the journey between Delhi and Chandigarh.

The new Tejas Express will offer onboard wi-fi along with LCD displays that will disseminate information but will primarily be for entertainment purposes. The colour scheme for the interiors of the Tejas will match the exterior paint job

The Tejas will be the first train on the Indian Railways network to feature automatic doors, like the ones seen on Metro trains in various cities across India. The Tejas will also be the first Indian train to feature secured gangways between coaches.

Like on the Shatabdi and the Rajdhani Express, the fares for the Tejas will include the catering services. The Tejas will serve the choicest cuisine curated by celebrity chefs. The trains will also feature tea and coffee vending machines along with the magazine and snack tables.

The coaches of the new Tejas will include integrated braille displays, digital destination boards, and electronic passenger reservation charts. Inside, the train will also feature water level indicators for the bio-vacuum toilets, sensors taps, and hand dryers.

The Tejas will also come installed with an advanced fire detection and response system which will stop the train immediately by applying the brakes if it detects smoke rising above a certain level on board the train.
