This 'Urus-ified' Fortuner Is Fugly And Makes You Want To Neuter The Indian Car Mod Scene
The Toyota Fortuner is one of the most attention-grabbing SUVs, especially for the regular Indian seeing it pass by them on the road.
Its reputation as a Neta Special and its abilities off the beaten path have made the Toyota Fortuner the go-to SUV for those with extra cash burning in their pockets.
Unfortunately, the attention that the Fortuner draws isn't enough for some owners who modify the SUV to look like more premium offerings in the market.
From updating the looks to the latest generation to making it look like a mini Lexus LX, the Fortuner has made quite a few body shops across the country a good amount of dough.
This seems to be the case here where an owner has decided to go down the Lamborghini route for his Fortuner. The Fortuner has been fitted with a body kit that takes inspiration from the Urus Super SUV from the Italian marque.
The results though aren't really what you would call great. The pointy front end of the Urus just looks plain weird popping out of the boxy shape of the Fortuner.
However, that doesn't mean that an effort has been made to make the Fortuner look like an Urus. The angular look of the body kit, which costs over Rs 1.75 lakhs.
With YouTuber Her Garage, asking him for more details, the owner of the Auto Daddy Cutoms in Vasant Kunj Delhi continues to show the custom bits that come with the Urus body for the Fortuner.
Other than the front bumper, the Urus kit for the Fortuner adds a detachable front splitter, plus a new rear bumper with faux tailpipes that mimic those from the Lamborghini SUV.
The modified Fortuner also features updated LED headlights that the shop owner states are made in Taiwan for the Legender.
However, the modified Fortuner at the body shop in Delhi still needs some work before it is sent back to its owner. The rear section definitely needs to be updated to match the theme of the front and the owner is still deciding on a colour and wrap.
Thoughts About The 'Urus' Bodied Fortuner
The Toyota Fortuner is quite a good-looking car on its own but that doesn't seem to be enough for some owners including the one here. While the Urus is quite a good-looking SUV, its pointy looks just don't gel with the Fortuner which despite its recent swoopy update still looks boxy compared to the Lambo.
And let's just not talk about the lack of any extra grunt to match the looks...
