LiveMap: Motorcycle Helmet With Navigation Display
LiveMap is Russian company developing an advanced helmet for motorcyclists, also named LiveMap. The basic function of this advanced helmet is to provide hands free navigation for bikers.
While car drivers have easy access to maps and other similar driver aids inside the safety of their cars, bikers lack the same comfort due to a fundamental reason. There is a straightforward solution to this problem though. The use of technology from flight helmets worn by combat aircraft pilots.
LiveMap is currently awaiting funding to go into production on crowd funding site Indiegogo, with a goal of $150,000. So, if you want to get an experience closest to Iron Man's helmet a contribution of $1500 (~Rs 88,000) will get you a LiveMap. Video and details in the gallery below.

LiveMap comes fitted with a microphone, two earpieces and a microdisplay. Information is displayed on the visor using the same technology used by flight helmets and some cars that feature windshield displays.

LiveMap uses a custom Android based OS that only supports necessary functions such live maps, location information and other navigation aids. This prevents a rider from playing games or watching a movie.

LiveMap uses a tech similar to Apple's Siri to recognize speech and take voice based commands. If the motorcyclists needs assistance in case of an accident the voice command help will alert local authorities.

LiveMap comes with other common features such as light sensor to auto adjust heads-up display brightness, G-sensor, gyroscope and digital compass for head movement tracking.

LiveMap is powered by two 3000mAh batteries, which the makers say, will last for a whole day.

LiveMap's team has already received financial aid from Russian institutions including, Moscow Department of Science, Industrial Policy and Enterprise among others for development. If crowdsourcing on Indiegogo is a success the futuristic helmet will go into production in major English speaking countries first.
