Hero Splendor iSmart 100cc Discontinued
Hero Motocorp, India's largest two-wheeler manufacturer has discontinued the production of the 100cc Splendor iSmart commuter motorcycle.
The Splendor iSmart was introduced in India in 2014 and was one of five bikes that Hero sells under the Splendor name.
According to GaadiWaadi, Hero has discontinued the motorcycle's production as it prepares for the launch of the 110cc variant of the bike which is expected to launch later this month.
The bike was powered by a 97.2cc single cylinder, air-cooled engine that produced 8.2bhp and 8.05Nm of torque. The bike used a 4-speed gearbox.
The bike used Hero's intuitive iSmart technology (i3S) which basically acted as a start-stop technology which helped the Splendor iSmart to claim an impressive mileage of 102km/l. The engine automatically turned off when the bike is idle and then turns on again when the clutch is pressed.
The Splendor iSmart will be replaced by the Splendor iSmart 110 which was introduced at the 2016 Auto Expo in Greater Noida and features a newly developed engine and new design language.
