Mahindra GenZe Electric Scooter Spotted Testing In India

The Mahindra GenZe is based on the aluminium monocoque frame which is unique in the scooter segment. The electric scooter also gets smart connectivity options such as GPS tracking, colour screen and riding modes.

The Mahindra GenZe electric scooter gets a large front wheel, raised handlebar and a large seat. The entire setup makes it a very easy-to-ride scooter. The scooter is equipped with disc brakes at both the ends.

The Mahindra GenZe electric scooter spotted in India features a loading bay as opposed to a pillion seat. In the US market, the GenZe if offered with customisation options such as a soft fabric box or a hard case or open bay. The customisation options are provided to suit various applications.

The Mahindra GenZe is equipped with a 2kWh lithium-ion battery and a 48-volt electric system. The electric motor produces 2bhp and 100Nm of peak torque. The electric scooter delivers a riding range of around 50km and it depends on the weight of the rider, speed and terrain.

In the US market, the top speed of the Mahindra GenZe is limited to 48km/h as per the regulations. But the scooter spotted testing in India could be slightly faster as the speed limit might have been removed.

Thoughts On The Mahindra GenZe Electric Scooter

The Mahindra GenZe electric scooter is targeted towards the commercial sector and can be used to deliver food and parcel. Mahindra is unlikely to launch the GenZe in India, but the company might be developing a new product based on the GenZe to suit the Indian conditions.

Mahindra already retails electric cars in India and it wouldn't be a surprise if the company enters the electric two-wheeler segment.
