Royal Enfield Crash Guards: The Latest Crash Guards For The Royal Enfield Bullet Shown In New Video
Official Royal Enfield Crash Guards Revealed: Popular motorcycle brand, Royal Enfield has showcased the latest crash guards available for Bullet motorcycles. While aftermarket and official crash guards are available in abundance for the Royal Enfield Bullet, this is the first time the manufacturer is releasing an official video to showcase the same.

The video showcases a total of seven crash guards, available for the Royal Enfield Bullet STD, Electra and Classic variants. The video also shows the material with which they are made – 32mm steel.

Crash guards are used to protect a motorcycle and the rider during a fall. If it is not for the crash guard, chances of the rider getting underneath the motorcycle and its hot engine will be high during a fall. A crash guard also protects the motorcycle body from scratches or dents by preventing it from coming in contact with the ground.
The new crash guards are available both in stainless steel and black mild steel finishes. Here are the various crash guards in detail:
Airfly

Perhaps, this is the most common crash guard available for the Royal Enfield Bullet. The three-slat guard goes really well with the ‘Macho' look of the bullet. It is also one of the oldest design for Royal Enfield crash guards.

The Airfly crash guard is heavier than the others. The protruding construction also makes it more susceptible to dents and scratches while riding through narrow spaces.
Price: Rs 3450
Octagon

As the name suggests, the eight-sided crash guard has a subtle design compared to the Airfly. The Octagon crash guard is also lighter and more compact.

If you are looking forward to buying a Classic, this is the crash guard to go for. It is minimal, neat and functional.
Price: Rs 2300
Trapezium

The most common type of crash guard found in various kinds of motorcycles, Trapezium crash guards provide good protection for the knee while giving clearance at the bottom. The lesser dimensions make it more lighter than the above two.

The crash guard with the most conventional design looks better in black. However, it doesn't suit a Royal Enfield like the Airfly and Octagon do.
Price: Rs 2100
Straight Bar

This crash guard offers just the protection a motorcycle needs if it falls to a side. Being the most basic form of a crash guard, straight bars could sometimes be mistaken as an illegal aftermarket fitment.

Some riders use straight bars to rest their legs during long rides.
Price: Rs 1800 (Approximate)
Thoughts On The Official Royal Enfield Crash Guards
The new video from Royal Enfield could be a move by the brand to prevent customers from going after aftermarket accessories. Aftermarket fitments could be cheaper but they cannot match the quality of branded accessories. In addition to this, official accessories come with a warranty too.
