LML Star Electric Scooter Reservations Open Ahead Of Launch; LML Electric Bikes Coming Soon
LML is all set to make a comeback in the Indian market and the brand is now accepting reservations for its first product. The LML Star electric scooter looks almost ready to debut, and interested buyers can now make reservations free of cost on the LML website. However, LML is yet to reveal details of the upcoming scooter.

LML is one of the household names in the Indian market when it comes to scooters. This is because of the LML Vespa scooters that the Kanpur-based brand manufactured in India from 1984. However, the arrival of modern scooters with variomatic transmissions saw LML Vespa models' sales decline and In 2017, LML was declared defunct.

Earlier this year, news of LML making a comeback surfaced. In September, LML's new trademarked names were leaked and this cemented the brand's return as an EV manufacturer. LML has confirmed three models for the Indian market - Star, Orion, and Moonshot. The LML Star is an electric scooter and will be the first of the three models to be launched in India.

Not many details about the electric scooter are available at the moment. However, the design and styling have been revealed through images of the scooter on the website. LML has gone for the premium maxi-scooter design language and this will make the Star, the first electric maxi-scooter in the Indian market.

Up front is a massive apron with LED DRLs and turn signal indicators integrated into it. There is a flyscreen and the headlamp is hidden behind it. The instrumentation is placed up high and gets unique mounting points. The floor is pretty high and this signals the presence of the batteries under the floor board. The seat looks very comfortable indeed and at the rear are large vertically-stacked tail lamps.

Those familiar with the scooters of yore would remember the LML Star scooter from the 90s. The new LML website does mention that "the Star has been reborn in unfathomable ways." The site doesn't give out any technical details and neither does it mention any features that the electric scooter comes with. However, it does say that it will provide "A Dynamic Riding Experience For Your Daily Commute."

As for the other two models, the Moonshot is said to be a dirtbike with a one-of-a-kind riding experience that will allow it to be used on the road as well. This electric motorcycle will feature battery-swapping technology as well. In other words, we can expect an electric ADV to come to the Indian market soon.

The final model is the Orion, also called Hyperbike. It is expected to be a rather quick electric motorcycle that offers fun-to-ride characteristics.
Thoughts On LML Star Scooter Reservations Being Opened Ahead Of Launch
The LML Star was a brilliant scooter back then, and now the Star name has returned, albeit in a new avatar with modern tech. It certainly looks good in the images and renderings and hopefully, the design and styling bit wouldn't change a lot. As for the electric powertrain, we can only assume that it will get some good range.
