Royal Enfield CEO Rides Upcoming Himalayan 452 To Umling La – The World’s Highest Motorable Pass
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 is one of the most awaited motorcycles of this year and this motorcycle is expected to be launched very soon.
Now, ahead of the launch of the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452, the CEO of the company, Govindarajan, took the motorcycle to Umling La, the world's highest motorable pass. Proving, the motorcycle deserves the 'Himalayan' nameplate.

That being said, Royal Enfield earlier announced "The Final Test", where a group of bikers will be riding the upcoming Himalayan 452 from Chennai to Umling La. Now, with this announcement, we can confirm the CEO of the company is also a part of this biker group.
Speaking about the ride, Chennai is very well-known for its hot and humid climate, and the city has an average elevation of around 22 feet. In comparison, Umling La has an elevation of 19,024 feet, and this 5,000-kilometre journey was completed by the Himalayan 452 quite comfortably.
That being said, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be a lot more powerful than the outgoing Himalayan. As a result, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 will be competing against more powerful adventure bikes such as the KTM 390 Adventure.
Coming to the powertrain, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 sports an all-new 451.65cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine with 39.5bhp at 8,000rpm. On top of that, we expect this powertrain to push out 36Nm to 39Nm of peak torque as well.

To maximise the power and torque output from this all-new liquid-cooled powertrain, Royal Enfield is expected to equip the upcoming Himalayan 452 with a 6-speed gearbox and Slip & Assist clutch for smoother downshifts.
In terms of design, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 looks more like an evolution of the outgoing Royal Enfield Himalayan. In fact, noticeable design features include a fixed headlamp, a large fuel tank, split seats, and mid-set footpegs.

Features-wise, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle will come with an all-new circular digital instrument cluster, Bluetooth connectivity, all-LED lighting, dual-channel ABS tech, multiple ride modes, a traction control system (TCS), and a few more.
In terms of hardware, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle will come equipped with premium hardware bits such as USD forks at the front, a semi-adjustable monoshock at the rear, and larger front and rear disc brakes.
As per homologation documents, the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle measures 2,245mm long, 852mm wide, and sports a wheelbase of 1,510mm. This makes the Himalayan 452 a bigger bike than the outgoing Himalayan motorcycle.
Thoughts About The Upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 452
The Royal Enfield Himalayan 452 motorcycle addresses one of the biggest shortcomings of the outgoing Himalayan - Peak power. With its new liquid-cooled powertrain, we expect the Himalayan 452 to be more powerful and well-suited for long-distance adventure getaways.
