Yamaha MT-03 Motorcycle Launched In India At Rs 4.60 Lakh – Naked Power House
Yamaha launched the new MT-03 motorcycle ahead of the new year in India with a price tag of Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The rather steep price tag is the courtesy of the automaker's decision of bring the model to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
The Design And Build Of The Yamaha MT-03
Like the Yamaha MT-15, the MT-03 exudes an aggressive stance, yet it distinguishes itself with a more robust and brawnier form. Thanks to light kerb weight of 167kg, coupled with a manageable seat height of 780mm, the MT-03 is both nimble and accessible to a broad range of riders.
Underneath its skin, the new Yamaha MT-03 motorcycle is almost identical to the new Yamaha R3. In fact, both motorcycles share plenty of components including USD forks, chassis, subframe, and the proven 321cc parallel twin engine, which delivers 42bhp and 29.5Nm of torque.
Features and Comparisons
Staying true to its family lineage, the MT-03 boasts a straightforward feature set, including dual-channel ABS for enhanced safety and an LCD instrument console for modern-day riders. Also, the new MT-03 stands out as the segment's sole twin-cylinder street naked bike in India.
However, the landscape is ripe for change, as there are speculations of Aprilia introducing a naked variant of the recently unveiled RS 457 motorcycle, which would further add some spice to the category.
