EICMA 2024: 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT Revealed As New Standard For Super Tourers
The 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT has been revealed at the 2024 EICMA Motorcycle Show as an even more formidable contender in the super sports tourer category. The 1390 Super Duke GT, known as the Long Distance Beast, has gotten significant upgrades, making it the new standard bearer of its class.
The enhancements made to the KTM 1390 Super Duke GT are not just superficial but extend deep into its core, starting with a boost in displacement for the LC8 engine to1350 cc. This increase in size for the LC8 V-twin engine, which it shares with the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO.
The upgraded engine combined with the new centrally positioned ram air intake, an improved air box, and a wider radiator among other advancements, elevates the engine's performance. The new Super Duke GT's engine pushes out 187.7bhp and 145Nm pf peak torque which is sent to the rear wheel via a revised 6-speed gearbox with shortened 5th and 6th gears.
The Super Duke GT features a radically redesigned setup that enables riders to enjoy extended periods on the road without discomfort, while also taking advantage of the bike's heightened performance on the track. Changes to the design include an all-new signature LED headlight, a sleek brake light with integrated turn signals, and a lower profile chassis, agressive but still usable footpegs and a 796mm long handlebar which can be rotated for more sports-orientated riding or touring.
The latest-generation chassis, borrowed from the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R EVO, serves as the foundation for the improved handling of the 2025 Super Duke GT model. This chassis supports increased torsional stiffness and a lower center of gravity, optimizing front tire feedback and control. The bike's handling is further refined with the addition of WP APEX Semi Active Technology (SAT) suspension components, enhancing stability and agility. The revised Comfort Mode, focusing on a smoother long-ride experience, showcases the development team's commitment to rider satisfaction.
In terms of braking, the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT is equipped with top-of-the-line Brembo systems, ensuring reliable stopping power. The front features four-piston Stylema monoblock calipers clamping onto 320 mm floating discs, complemented by a rear setup that includes a Brembo twin-piston floating caliper and a 240 mm disc. Enhanced adjustability through a new MCS front brake lever, along with various ABS modes, including Cornering ABS and Supermoto ABS, affirms the bike's performance credentials.
The motorcycle's technological suite has seen substantial updates, introducing class-leading rider aids and a new Ride Mode concept. The innovative 8.8-inch TFT touchscreen dashboard offers a simplified menu, seamless smartphone connectivity, and additional functionalities like Offline Map Navigation. Customizable handlebar switch cubes further personalize the riding experience, allowing easy access to the bike's extensive features.
Riders can also enjoy the redefined Ride Modes, including Rain, Street, Sport, and a new Custom mode, with additional customization options and an optional Track Mode. Advanced safety and convenience features, such as Adaptive Cruise Control and Brake Assist, are made possible by the addition of a Front Radar. A Demo Mode enables riders to explore the full range of technological offerings, ensuring they find the perfect tech pack for their needs. To complete the package, a full line of KTM PowerParts and KTM PowerWear has been developed for the 2025 KTM 1390 Super Duke GT.
